Egenskaper

Infusjonsvæske og konsentrat (bufferinnhold 500 mmol/l eller 1000 mmol/l, som tilsvarer 0,5 eller 1 mmol/ml, pH ca. 8). Finnes også som tabletter.

Indikasjoner

Svære metabolske acidoser, f.eks. hjertestans (når alkalisering er indisert). Ved forsert alkalisk diurese, se G12 Forgiftninger G12 Alkalisk diurese – praktisk veiledning.

Reseptfri bruk: Syrenøytraliserende ved for mye magesyre, halsbrann og sure oppstøt.

Dosering og administrasjon

Ved hjertestans infunderes 200–250 ml infusjonsvæske 500 mmol/l. Så snart normal hjerteaksjon er oppnådd, avbrytes infusjonen. Behandling bør rettledes av syre-base-status. Fullkorreksjon av ekstracellulær basedeficit: mmol HCO3 – (mmol base) = –BE (base excess) × 0,3 × kg kroppsvekt. Ofte startes det med halvkorreksjon.

Reseptfri bruk: Syrenøytralisrende: 1–2 tabletter (500 mg–1 g) flere ganger daglig ved behov.

Peroralt preparat (Natron) brukes også ved kronisk nyresvikt med metabolsk acidose.
